KVV’s School of Dental Sciences Shines on the International Stage with Dual Honors

We are immensely proud to announce that the School of Dental Sciences, Krishna Vishwa Vidyapeeth (KVV), Karad, has achieved two prestigious international accolades from the Pierre Fauchard Academy, Section At-Large, Asia Region, marking a historic moment for the institution.

Dr. Shashikiran N D, Dean of the School of Dental Sciences, KVV, has been honored with the "Lifetime Achievement Award", a tribute to his extraordinary contributions, lifelong dedication, and impactful legacy in the field of dentistry. With over 25 years of experience, Dr. Shashikiran has significantly advanced academic and clinical excellence and has contributed extensively through numerous publications in national and international journals. This award stands as a testament to his unwavering commitment to the profession and his role in inspiring generations of dental professionals.

International Community Service Excellence Award for Public Health Dentistry Department

In another proud achievement, the Department of Public Health Dentistry, School of Dental Sciences, KVV, was honored with the "International Community Service Excellence Award" on 6th April 2025. This recognition celebrates the department’s exceptional dedication to community service and its impactful contributions to oral health care, especially among poor, needy, and underprivileged populations in and around Karad, Satara district.

The award, received by Dr. Shashikiran N D, was based on the department's incredible outreach efforts, which included conducting over 346 activities across rural areas of Satara district and screening more than 25,975 patients for various oral and dental diseases — all within a single month.

This monumental accomplishment was made possible through the visionary leadership of Dr. Shashikiran N D (Dean), and the dedicated efforts of Dr. Shivakumar K.M (Professor and Head of the Department), Dr. Asmita Hamand (Assistant Professor), and Dr. Muskan Palkar (Assistant Lecturer).

The Hon’ble Chancellor, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, and all university officials have extended their heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Shashikiran and the entire team for these outstanding accomplishments that have brought global recognition to the university.
