The lamp lighting and oath taking ceremony is an auspicious occasion in every nurse’s life, held in reverence of Florence Nightingale, the Lady with Lamp. The Lamp lighting ceremony formally recognizes the student’s entry into the Nursing Profession.
The lamp lighting and Oath taking ceremony of 17th Batch of B.SC. Nursing and 40th Batch of GNM was held on 5th January 2023 at Krishna Vishwa Vidyapeeth Auditorium.
Hon’ble Dr. Suresh J. Bhosale, Chancellor, Krishna ishwa Vidyapeeth, Karad presided over the function and Hon’ble Dr. Ramaling Mali, President, Maharashtra Nursing Council, Mumbai was the Chief Guest.
The function was graced by presence of Dr. A.Y. Kshirsagar Medical Director, Dr. R. G. Naniwadekar, Medical Administrator, Krishna Hospital and Medical Research Center, Karad, DR. (Mrs.) Vaishali Rajsinh Mohite, Dean, Krishna Institute of Nursing Sciences, and Mrs. Rohini Babar, Chief Nursing Officer, Krishna Hospital and Medical Research Center, Karad.
Dr. Ramling Mali, DR. Mrs. Vaishali R Mohite and Mrs. Rohini Babar lit the lamps of 160 novice nursing students which symbolizes wisdom, knowledge and compassion, followed by recitation of oath by Mrs. Manisha Gholap, Associate Professor, KINS.
The chief guest Dr. Ramling Mali has enlightened the students on the significance of lamp lighting and oath taking in nursing profession. In the presidential address Hon’ble Dr. Suresh J. Bhosale, Chancellor, Krishna Vishwa Vidyapeeth applauded the students for choosing the nursing profession and also emphasized the importance of nurses at global level. The programme was ended with national anthem.
