KIST Faculty and Students Achieved Distinction at National and International Conferences
Krishna Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), Krishna Vishwa Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), Karad, proudly announces the commendable academic and research achievements of its faculty members and students at various national and international conferences and competitions conducted during January 2026.
One Day National Conference: SSFIP-2026
The One Day National Conference on “Science for Sustainable Future: Interdisciplinary Perspective (SSFIP-2026)” was sponsored by PM-USHA and organized by Dahiwadi College, Dahiwadi, under the Faculty of Science and Internal Quality Assurance Cell. The conference was held on 23rd January 2026 at Dahiwadi College, Dahiwadi (District Satara) and focused on interdisciplinary scientific approaches for sustainable development.
At this national conference:
- Dr. Jayashri Pramod Nanaware received the Best Paper Presentation Award for her research paper titled “Significant Reduction of Distillery Waste Using Trichosporon asahii Yeast Isolate.” Her research emphasized a sustainable microbial strategy for effective reduction of distillery waste and was selected for the award based on its scientific quality, innovation, and relevance to environmental sustainability.
- Ms. Nilam Shashikant Thorat, Department of Science and Technology, Krishna Institute of Science and Technology, Karad, was awarded the Second Prize in Poster Presentation.
Her poster was evaluated by the expert review committee and was highly appreciated for its clarity of concept, subject knowledge, research aptitude, and effective presentation skills. - Ms. Rutuja Vishwas Desai and Mr. Bhushan Mahesh Joshi were awarded the Third Prize in Poster Presentation for their titled “Development of Eco-Friendly Fruit Ripening Delay Sachet and Removal of Ethylene Oxide from Exposed Fruits.” Their research addressed important post-harvest challenges and proposed eco-friendly strategies to enhance fruit shelf life and reduce post-harvest losses.
International Conference: ICMSFDP-2026
The International Conference on “Microbiology for Sustainable Future: Developmental Perspectives (ICMSFDP-2026)” was organized by the Department of Microbiology, Yashwantrao Chavan Institute of Science, Satara, and held on 23rd and 24th January 2026.
- Mr. Amey Mahadik secured Second Rank in Oral Presentation. His presentation was evaluated by an expert committee and recognized for its scientific approach, subject knowledge, and research aptitude in the field of microbiology and sustainable development.
International Conference: BIOMAKE IN INDIA-III
The three-day International Conference “BIOMAKE IN INDIA-III” was organized by Krishna Institute of Science and Technology, KVV (DU), Karad, in collaboration with the Microbiologists Society, India (MBSI), and was held from 19th to 21st January 2026 at Karad.
- Mr. Amey Mahadik secured Rank 1 in Oral Presentation for his research titled
“Waste eggshell derived CaO nanoparticles: A preliminary antimicrobial, anticancer and antiplasmodial profiling.” The research focused on waste valorization and the biomedical potential of calcium oxide nanoparticles and was highly appreciated for its innovation, scientific merit, and presentation quality.
State Level Competition: 15th BIORESONANCE-2026
The 15th BIORESONANCE One Day State Level Intercollegiate Competition was organized by the Department of Biotechnology, Yashwantrao Chavan Institute of Science, Satara, on 31st January 2026.
- Ms. Rutuja Vishwas Desai received the Consolation Prize in the Biotoon Competition for her creative entry titled “From Humble Waste to Hopeful Tomorrow -Viksit Bharat 2047.”
Her biotoon effectively conveyed the concept of waste-to-value and sustainable development aligned with the national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
