KINS-Guest Lecture on Mobile Addiction

Organized an insightful guest lecture on “Mobile Addiction” to educate students about the growing impact of excessive smartphone use on physical, psychological, and social well-being.

The session was conducted by Dr. Rahul More (MBBS, D.P.M.), Consultant Psychiatrist at G.S. Medical College & KEM Hospital, Mumbai, and Manotej Hospital & De-addiction Centre, Islampur. Dr. More elaborated on the definition, signs, risk factors, and adverse effects of mobile addiction, highlighting its influence on academic performance, sleep patterns, concentration, social relationships, and mental health. He also discussed preventive measures, management strategies, and the critical role of nurses in counselling. Practical tips for responsible and balanced digital usage were shared to help students cultivate healthier habits.

The lecture was highly interactive, with students actively participating in the Q&A session. A total of 160 students and faculty attended. Gaining valuable insights into recognizing early warning signs and adopting effective coping strategies for mobile addiction.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, reflecting gratitude to the guest speaker, faculty members, and organizing team. The session successfully raised awareness and inspired students to engage in responsible and mindful use of digital technology.
