KINS-Breast Health Awareness and Screening Camp at Shendre, Satara

Under the able guidance of Hon'ble Dr. Suresh Bhosale, Chancellor, Krishna Vishwa Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), Karad, Krishna Institute of Nursing Sciences (KINS), successfully organized a Breast Health Awareness and Screening Camp on 5th April 2026 at Swa. Abhaysinh Raje Bhosale Sanskrutik Sabhagruh, Shendre, Satara, in collaboration with Chatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Government Medical College and Hospital, Satara.

The camp was graced by the Chief Guest Hon'ble Shivendrasinhraje Abhaysinhraje Bhosale, Minister of Public Works, Government of Maharashtra who appreciated the initiative and encouraged efforts towards strengthening preventive healthcare services in rural communities.

The program aimed to promote awareness on breast and cervical health, encourage early detection of breast cancer, and educate women on breast self-examination practices. Under the leadership of Dr. (Mrs.) Vaishali R. Mohite, Dean, KINS, the initiative reached a wide section of the community.

A total of around 3000 women benefited through awareness initiatives, out of which 1329 beneficiaries registered for screening services. Screenings were conducted using clinical breast examination (CBE), Intelligence Breast Examination (iBE) , and Thermolytix techniques. A cases with irregular findings were identified and promptly referred for further medical evaluation, reinforcing the critical importance of early detection and timely intervention in breast health management.

The camp included interactive awareness sessions and live demonstrations, enabling women to learn proper self-examination techniques. The event received positive community response, with participants expressing satisfaction and requesting more such outreach programs in rural areas.
