Dr. Amar Mohite, Assistant Professor, Krishna Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), Secures ₹1.78 Crore ICMR Extramural Grant

Krishna Vishwa Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University)’s Krishna Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), Karad has achieved a significant research milestone with Dr. Amar Mohite, Assistant Professor (KIST), securing a prestigious ICMR IIRPGS Extramural Research Grant 2025 worth ₹1 Crore 78 Lakhs from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi.
The sanctioned research project is titled “Cavitand-Based Cationic Supramolecular Systems for Targeted Biofilm Disruption and Antimicrobial Resistance Mitigation.” The project aims to address one of the most critical global healthcare challenges antimicrobial resistance (AMR) by developing advanced supramolecular strategies for effective biofilm disruption.
The project is led by Dr. Amar Mohite, Principal Investigator, Dr. Jayant Pawar and Dr. Kailas Datkhile serving as Co-Principal Investigators. The interdisciplinary research team will focus on innovative molecular approaches to combat persistent biofilms that contribute to drug-resistant infections.
This prestigious grant underscores the growing research excellence, innovation capacity, and national-level recognition of Krishna Institute of Science and Technology, Karad, and further strengthens KVV (DU)’s commitment to impactful biomedical research addressing societal and healthcare needs.
