AIM:
This workshop aims to provide hands on skill building sessions to enhance future Nurse Practitioners to deliver comprehensive patient Care.
OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the Workshop Participants will be able to
To demonstrate systematic approach in initial assessment of trauma patient.
To describe the system specific management of trauma patient.
To demonstrate trauma management skills on simulated real-life situations.

Google registration form and pre test link provided the day of workshop at 10:00 am
Workshop Overview: The workshop began at 10:00 AM with registration and a pre-test. It featured theory sessions and skill stations over two days.
Day 1:
Session 1: Initial Assessment in Trauma Patient (Dr. Mrs. Swati A. Ingale)
Focused on assessing and prioritizing treatment based on injuries, vital signs, and injury mechanisms, emphasizing efficient assessment of vital functions.
Session 2: Airway and Ventilatory Management (Mrs. Mayuri V. More)
Highlighted the importance of airway and ventilatory assessment in trauma care, discussing scenarios such as head trauma, maxillofacial trauma, neck and laryngeal trauma, and airway obstruction.
Skill Session:
Demonstrations on cervical spine stabilization and helmet removal, with student participation.
Day 2:
Session 1: Spinal Trauma
Addressed managing life-threatening injuries and minimizing spinal movement until injuries are excluded, recommending early consultation with specialists.
Session 2: Head Injury
Covered securing the airway for comatose patients, performing neurological examinations, using the Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS), and conducting rapid neurological assessments.
Skill Session:
Practiced needle decompression and endotracheal intubation.
The workshop concluded with a post-test, student feedback, and a vote of thanks by PG students.
