Organ Donation Camp Awareness Talk
Department of community medicine, KIMS, Karad celebrates World organ Donation day on 13 th August every year to create awareness among population about importance of organ donation. This year Dr. S. M. Kunbhar (Associate Professor), Dr. P.V. Ghunkikar (Associate Professor) & Dr. Anjali Ghuge organised awareness talk at village Shere, subcentre (adopted under FAP) Dr. Ankur Khurana junior resident of department of community medicine, KIMS Karad and Dr. Tabassum Gani Kagdi (Medical Officer, PHC Kale ) organised awareness talk at PHC Kale.
The program aimed to raise awareness and dispel myths surrounding organ donation. Information about organ donation it’s importance, which organ can be donated and how it can be done was given. Around 30 people were present during organ donation awareness camp. Speech was concluded with vote of thanks. The event was well – received, with participants showing interest in organ donation. Several individuals expressed willingness to become donors, helping to spread awareness and inspire action.
FAP- Tree Plantation Event

Under family adoption programme tree plantation was organised by Department of Community Medicine and Shere village grampanchyat association with Mauli Prathishthan Shere. Welcome speech was given by Dr. S. V.Kakade Associate professor Department of Community Medicine.
Approximately 100 tree plantation was done by II phase students along with interns. The programme was conducted under guidance of Dr. Shekhar Kumbhar (Associate Professor), Dr. S. V. Kakade (Associate Professor), II phase students and interns actively participated in tree plantation.
CME on Hypertension

CME on Hypertension: Empowering AYUSH Practitioners in the Management of Hypertension was organised on June 14th, 2024; 01:30 PM - 05:00 PM in at Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences, Karad it was organised by Department of Community Medicine in association with NIMA, Homeopathic Association, General Practitioners Association Karad, Patan and Walva tehsils.
The inauguration of CME was done by Prof. Dr. Mrs. Neelam Mishra, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, KVV DU, Karad at 2:00 pm. This CME was attended by total of 140 participants from Karad, Patan, Walva and Palus tehsils of Satara and Sangli districts of western Maharashtra.
The CME on Hypertension aims to equip AYUSH practitioners with the latest knowledge and tools for managing hypertension. By integrating recent advances in medical science with holistic approaches, this event seeks to improve patient outcomes and enhance the capabilities of practitioners in addressing one of the most prevalent health issue hypertension.
